Understanding Leasing Issues in Eastern Europe

ICSC is strengthening its position as the source of global industry knowledge across Eastern Europe with a series of leasing seminars, kick-started in Serbia on 17 June and Greece on 18 June.
Lodestar Marketing was present at both events to meet with upcoming developers and gain further understanding of the issues affecting the shopping centre industry in these regions.
Beginning in Belgrade, comparisons of the shopping centre industry in Scandinavia were provided by Flemming Mervog of Danish developer Steen & Strøm.
Following this, Pavlina Chandras, General Manager of Sonae Sierra provided a local and global perspective for the Greek attendees in Athens the following day.
From both these seminars, it was clear the over-whelming priority for developers is securing the right retailers for their schemes and managing their tenant mix.
