Over the last ten years this ever popular event has provided a central place for the industry and its’ stakeholders to exchange ideas, explore technology transfer, identify good practice and develop future plans for managing leakage.
There are increasing challenges ahead in order to maintain the sustainability of water resources in the face of climate change and demographic and behavioural changes. Managing leakage cost effectively therefore remains a key priority for all water companies.
This year’s timing is critical as the final determinations draw near and companies plan their AMP5 programmes. The industry plan to look at Ofwat’s expectations for leakage in PR09 and leakage driven asset management programmes and company proposals for achieving this.
